“Asia Folk” festival is stage to promote cultural heritages of Asian countries. This is also platform where folklore artists and heritage keepers meet for networking and friendship, study from each others and find fantastic ideas of new performance. The festival also has contest program that winners get Grand prix and cash prizes. This is one of the ways to promote and support heritage keepers.
“ArtLar Culture” NGO got a permission from WAFF /World Association of Folklore Festivals/ to organize this festival in Mongolia, as brand branch festival of World Championship of Folklore, organized by WAFF and EAFF /European Association of Folklore Festivals/ and World Folklore Academy. The first edition festival was held in 2019 in Ulaanbaatar under auspicious of Prime Minister of Mongolia with financial support of Cultural Ministry.
Handcraft fair and workshops
From 2023 the “Asia Folk” started to receive financial support from Ulaanbaatar City and Arts and Cultural Department, Implementing Agency of the City and Ulaanbaatar Support Center for Small and Medium Enterprises became co-organizers of the festival. Also, changed the festival name as “Asia Folk” Folklore and Handcrafts Festival of Asia. We organize folklore contest and handcraft fair in range of the festival.
Networking and friendship of heritage keepers
Community of the “Asia Folk” is expanding from year to year and creating big family of heritage keepers, artists and handcrafters. Those people are heroic messengers, sent from the sky to remind us who we were and who we should be. Root of human being is cultural heritage. Let our cultural heritage would enlighten our life.
Registration will be made on the festival information desk in the lobby of the hotel.
Participants will arrive in Mongolia and hotel check-in. Bus transportation will be organized by the organizers to pick up the participants from the airport and train stations.
